Kevin Mallery

Dr. Kevin Mallery obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University in 1999. He then completed a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Following the internship, Dr. Mallery completed a residency program in internal medicine at the University of California, Davis. While at UC Davis, Dr. Mallery was involved in clinical research in endocrinology and actively participated in the training of pre-clinical and fourth year veterinary students. Dr. Mallery started the internal medicine department at a specialty hospital in Riverside County and worked there for 6 years. Dr. Mallery served as co-president of the Orange Belt Veterinary Medical Association in Riverside County for 3 years. He was the medical director of Veterinary Specialty Hospital’s North County hospital for 11 years.

A Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Dr. Mallery’s special interests include gastroenterology, liver disease, endocrinology, autoimmune disease, and oncology. Dr. Mallery is skilled in all endoscopic techniques including gastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, rhinoscopy, cystoscopy, bronchoscopy and laparoscopy. He is also proficient in abdominal ultrasonography and percutaneous biopsy techniques.

Dr. Mallery is currently the lead investigator in internal medicine for Ethos Science.  He has a passion for research on the intestinal microbiome. His area of expertise and interest in research includes the gastrointestinal microbiome in health and in relation to gastrointestinal and systemic disease processes. He is Director of Internal Medicine  Innovations for Ethos Discovery, with several clinical trials currently underway in the Dysbiosis Program. The agenda of this program is to develop blood tests that can define clinically impactful dysbiosis, and to normalize intestinal health through nutrition and novel therapies.

Dr. Mallery has published scientific articles in endocrinology, cardiology and oncology. He lectures frequently at scientific meetings. He shares his home with his wife, two sons, daughter, and two dogs.
